Certificates that issue themselves when a learner finishes

Connect your course platform once, and every learner who completes gets a verifiable certificate by email, with a QR code and an Open Badges 3.0 file.

The problem

Manual exports for every cohort

Exporting completions, making certificates and sending them by hand does not scale with self-paced courses that finish every day.

Generic certificates carry little weight

A plain PDF from an online course is easy to edit and hard to check, so learners get less value from finishing.

Every platform wants a different format

Learners want to post on LinkedIn, keep a PDF and add badges to their wallets. Producing each by hand is a chore.

How it works

  1. Design the certificate once, with fields for the learner's name, course and completion date.

  2. Call the REST API from your LMS, website or form when a learner completes; signed webhooks tell you when the certificate is ready.

  3. The learner is emailed a PDF and JPG, an "Add to LinkedIn" button and an Open Badges 3.0 file.

  4. Anyone checking scans the QR code or opens the verify link to see the course, the date and your organisation as the issuer.

Issue from where your learners already are

The REST API accepts one certificate or a batch per call and checks every row the same way the spreadsheet upload does, returning plain-language errors for any row that needs fixing. Signed webhooks report when a certificate is issued or revoked, so your platform stays in step.

Open Badges 3.0, built in

Every certificate from a Pro account can be exported as an Open Badges 3.0 file, issued under your organisation’s own did:web identity. Learners can add it to any wallet or platform that accepts Open Badges, and the QR code on the PDF still leads to the same live record.

Keep your own brand

On Pro, the verify page, the certificate and the embeddable widget carry no eCert.Digital branding, and verify results can link to a page on your own site.

Any platform that can make an HTTP request or receive a webhook, including Moodle, WordPress and Google Forms through Apps Script or an automation tool. There are no ready-made plugins yet; the API docs show the calls.
